Course Accreditation/Approval
What happens next?
The consideration of submissions for the Accreditation or Approval are processed in two stages:
Stage One
During this stage the submission will be reviewed by the Education Team. The purpose of the review is to identify any areas of the submission which, in advance of presentation to the Education Committee, may require clarification, addition, or amendment
An individual member of the team will be assigned as the primary contact for each submission and will contact the education provider directly in regard to any areas requiring further input.
We aim to complete the Stage One Review within fifteen working days however it may take longer if additional information is required.
Stage Two
Upon completion of the Stage One Review the submission will be referred for consideration at a meeting of the Education Committee. The education provider will be advised of the date on which the submission will receive consideration.
The possible outcomes of the Education Committee considerations are:
Refer the Submission
Referred for resubmission – the Committee will provide guidance if they require further information, input or amendment in order to address the submission.
The education provider will receive a notification of the Committee decision within 24 hours of the meeting close. The committee decision and accompanying guidance will be provided to the education provider within five working days of the decision.
A resubmission must be made within two calendar months from the date of the Committee decision
Grant the Submission
The submission is granted giving approval for Accreditation or Approval of graduate and/or post-graduate courses; or accreditation and assignment of value for Continuing Professional Development Courses.
The education provider will receive a notification of the Committee decision within 24 hours of the meeting close. Formal confirmation documents and access to education provider resources will be supplied to the education provider within five working days of the date of the Committee decision.
