What NOS are

Why they matter

For Nutritional Therapy, NOS help define areas of expertise, common competences and the role of practitioners across training, qualifications and professional development.

How they are used

NOS can support recruitment, staff development, promotion, training needs, CPD planning and consistent accreditation of training and qualifications.

Background

National Occupational Standards are Crown Copyright and were first published for Nutritional Therapy in 2003. The last review of the NOS for the twelve main complementary therapies was conducted by Skills for Health with input from the General Regulatory Council for Complementary Therapies in 2010.
